Dragon Fw190 A7 1/48

Hello everyone, here's my recent build. This was a very challenging kit to build it was fighting me all the way. When I got to attaching the wings to the fueselage and had a 2mm gap on both sides of the wing root I began to second guess myself. So I went to the internet to do a little research on this kit. I wasn't regressing with my building skills! The kit is just pretty bad all round. Just about every part needed a passive aggressive response. 

 

I almost gave up on a few occasions. It was one of those builds I have often read about where you wonder if it should be shelved and forgotten. Instead it just sat around on the bench until each boost of courage. 

 

Finally completed and quite happy with it, not perfect that's for sure but really pleased with the paintwork. I'm a long way off with the chipping and weathering still but I know it's about the journey!

Well done for sticking it out and not giving up Walt. She's a good end product.

 

If you want to try chipping give MIGs Heavy Chipping fluid a go. I first tried it recently and was very pleased. It works even under lacquer paints.

It certainly looks like a completed FW-190 model. I've got one in Italeri boxing.

That looks pretty blooming good from where I'm standing!  Lovely representation of the aircraft in a great colour scheme.
