I did a bit of modification to get the Observer's station fitted and found some bubble windows for the fuselage.
72modeler
Potato, potata, Tarpon, Avenger...by any name a well-built and finished Turkey is a joy to behold! Nice choice of scheme, too! Mike

IanC
It's both. The Admiralty eventually adopted Avenger because Tarpon was such a rubbish name... Same with the Martlet/Wildcat. Nice model!

Same with the Martlet/Wildcat. Nice model! Royal Navy, if they were naming aircraft and were not adding the suffix ‘Sea’, seemed to have named fighters after Seabirds; Skua, Fulmar, Martlet, Gannet, etc and bombers after fish, Swordfish, Albacore, Barracuda, Tarpon. They did away with the naming convention for US manufactured aircraft in about 1944. Just think the Corsair could have been the Blue Footed Booby...
tonyot
Very nice,..... I do like this scheme on the Avenger but have never seen it applied to a Mk.III/ TBM-3 before. Lovely stuff mate, Tony
