giemme
Sven, are they actually different as regards camouflage color, or is it just the pics? TIA Ciao

They are both Air Defense Grey, FS16473. Just differences in light intensity and angle. Sven

stevehnz
That is a really neat scheme for an all over ADC Gray finish, the golden lightning flashes & eagle tail fin motif set it off beautifully, thanks for sharing these Sven, much appreciated as usual. RidgeRunner
That was always a lovely scheme. I remember seeing some of those 49th machines at William Tell 1980 Martin
Slater
I believe TAC took over from ADC the year before (1980)?
Asmodai
Thanks for sharing those. I lived then only a few miles away from the now (former) Griffiss AFB. They were the last USAF active duty unit to operate the F-106, and when they stood down 1987, the F-106's front line service was over. They shared Griffiss with the B-52s of the 416th Bomb Wing. They remained until the base was closed and realigned to civilian use in 1995.
