06/24
I didn’t have any suitably sized strip for the latches, and while I could have cut some from sheet stock, it was quicker to “recycle” the latches from the kit boxes. 1/35 Rolls Royce by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr 1/35 Rolls Royce by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr The replacements may not be perfectly square, but they’re not far off, and while they may lack finesse they still look better than the kit examples. Work moves on to the turret next.
06/24
So I think we’re basically ready for paint, but that will need to wait for a nice day as I don’t have anywhere I can spray indoors. 06/24
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I’ve just realised I should have left the Scarff ring separate until it was painted. Oh well...

Bullbasket
Neat work. That looks to be quality kit, certainly better than the Roden offering. John.

Roden probably offers more choice of prototypes - early pattern turret etc, but the Meng is, mostly, a pleasure to build. Just a shame the weather is preventing any more progress. 06/24
Having said the weather wasn’t playing ball, miraculously it cleared (and dried) up enough this afternoon to get a primer coat of Humbrol 237 Desert Tan sprayed from an aerosol. Sadly over hasty attempts to get coverage on the lockers have left some minor runs which will need sanded back, but nothing insurmountable. The colour is probably a little more yellow than is ideal, although it looks reasonably close to the regiment’s replica. 1/35 Meng Rolls Royce Armoured Car by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr 1/35 Meng Rolls Royce Armoured Car by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr
Scooby
Nice build, I typically build aircraft, I may grab this kit as it is an interesting and unique subject.
