Spookytooth
Well, in an attempt to get my mojo running I grab this one out of the stash. Purchased from Paul at the Waterlooville Model Centre a while ago, it`s the new tooling, so should go together quite easily, I hope. The bits. The Montex Masks are save my sanity. And I am doing this version, to save on masking too. While I get my mojo running, i.e. a cup of coffee and fag a little light music to entertain you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb56x0vC5IU See you soon. All comments welcome. Spookytooth
OK, after a cuppa and fag some work done. Wing bits first. Then the wheel bay added. And the the upper wings added. Not much, but getting there. Something to do with planes I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq6VhHTYGq0 All comments welcome. 2996 Victor
Hi Simon, looks like a good start! I've a soft spot for the BP Defiant, so I'll tag along if I may! The black night-fighter is a good choice, too! Cheers, Mark
Spookytooth
Thanks @2996 Victor, plenty of room here sir, refreshments in the kitchen. Right onwards, Oil cooler and air intake built. Turret parts. Masking mojo on... We will see how these Montex masks go. And the guns have been glued together. Off to the shop now, need more tissues. All comments welcome. Dr. Quack
I like a Defiant - following with interest. "Saviour of Clydebank" despite its' broadly poor reputation. Q
Spookytooth
Greetings @Dr. Quack, you are welcome sir, drag up a comfy chair and warm you cockles by a nice warm radiator . Right, more done, Turret ready for priming. As well as the prop. And the seat has had some belts added to it. P.O. ffoukes Sharpe and Air Gunner Dick Shottoff are visiting the canteen for this build after an unsuccessful nights sortie. Tea time approaches so catch up later. All comments welcome. Marklo
I am now of course humming the AC/DC song, ear worm aargh, but I do prefer the cover by Yngwie j Malmsteen. Will sit in on the defiant.
jackroadkill
Nice to see the Defiant getting some love; I always had the conventionally low opinion of it until I did some research for my own build, and then I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't the horrific death-trap it is often portrayed to be. I'll watch this with interest.
bigbadbadge
Great start, will watch along to if you'll permit me. An interesting machine. Chris
tonyot
It is coming along really well ,...... if I remember correctly the undercarriage looks a little short after it is fitted,..... give it a dry run and see what you think compared to pics of the real thing,...... but don`t take my word for it! Other than that it is a gorgeous kit. Cheers mate Tony Edited October 15, 2020 by tonyot

Not too sure about that.https://amzn.eu/hUKLNis I finished reading this last week and while not a death trap it doesn’t look that good especially for tall gunners. That said I’d still on planning one to the collection at some stage. Edited October 15, 2020 by Marklo

I tried to do the cockpit detail painting on my current Tamiya Zero, but I'm having a bad eye day - glasses on, lights on, magnifier at the ready, but just no good today. Spookytooth
Thanks @2996 Victor, I know how that feels LOL. OK folks, I made a cock up. The bulkhead behind the pilots seat is on the wrong way around. Stupid Boy!!!! A quick and fortunate remedial separated the parts and I was able to fix the right way round. The side consoles were fitted, And also the I.P too. I may be able to zip the fuselage together tonight. All comments welcome. Simon.
giemme
Good save with the bulkhead, Simon - and lovely detail painting too! Ciao
Spookytooth
Thanks @giemme as I said buttoned up time. Last view of the inners. And together. I am going to let that dry overnight before anything else. You all have a good evening. All comments welcome. Simon.
Spookytooth
Thanks @billn53, @2996 Victor and @giemme. Well, I got this morning!!!! (No, not the beginning of an old blues song.) Went to dry fit the wings and fuselage together and there is a gap at the front end. Hard to see in those pics, but when I went to fit the rear fuselage "Spine" this was spotted. Me thinks something has gone "Pete Tong " here. Off for a cuppa and think. All comments welcome. Simon.
Spookytooth
After a coffee and a think I attacked the underside of the cockpit floor and main U/C bay with a file or three. This helped out a lot, enough in fact for me to be able to attach the wings without any fancy clamping arrangements. I also added the tail feathers and fuselage spine too. I am going to let this lot set overnight before messing around with her. All comments welcome. Simon.
