sampanzer
My entry to the GB, hopefully I will get time to complete this one. I am going to be moving house again soon, but I will aim to get the bulk of construction done before the move, then paint once thats done and I set up the model room! The now old Dragon Panther Ausf A late production 'premium edition' with additional Eduard etch zimmerit.. sampanzer
Small update, progress continues between work and packing! Wheels all cleaned up and suspension arms fitted. Now working on the rear plate before turning to the upper hull and turret. Etch zimmerit is a pain, but clean.. https://www.flickr.com/photos/145656118@N05/50511984633/in/album-72157716400008976/ Edited October 21, 2020 by sampanzer No picture
sampanzer
Well, one of the reasons I i rarely post on the forum is that I can rarely get a photo to upload, and that has happened again. My link got embedded but does not show up, the 'insert image from URL' goes red when I put in there, so I will leave it for now.

I will persevere!

Any suggestions on its application or results. And a Dragon Premium kit, those where the days when Dragon gave you all the bling.... The past was better after all! Good luck

Retired Bob
I have this kit in the stash, from the days when Dragon were upping their game from their older kits and new releases came out every month. They are very quiet these days. It will be interesting to see how your zimmerit looks under a coat of paint, I bought some p/e zimmerit from Eduard for the Dragon Elephant but it didn't fit that well and did not look very convincing either, so I got some Atak resin zimmerit instead and that's much better. Is there any problem with blending the zimmerit panels at their edges to make it look like a joint free coating? From the photos it's looking very good. I have found that on the panther the edges are less of an issue so far, maybe thats me having improved, or taken more time, well I like to think its me lol I think I have an attak set somewhere, but not sure, I certainly have a meng set for their King Tiger, which I believe is a decal you apply to the plastic.. that sounds intriguing but something I am keen to try out once we are moved and settled..,

I was just glad when Dragon started making models with moulded on zimmerit, I haven't finished my Stug III with waffle zimmerit yet but here's my JagdPanzer IV.

Hi. this is from a Pz4, which still sits in the same state. was Just playing with Etch for the first time Zimm was from Eduard set. Easy to apply, but try not to buckle/bend accidentally as can then be more awkward to get a even lay. And I hated the ball turret, but that may just be me.
