Changing an existing STL file?

Not sure if this is the correct spot, but, here goes.  I found a head tracking clip that looks promising, but I want to make changes.  Specifically the areas where the leds are fitted,  I want to extend those 3 sections by another inch.  Reason being that I find the LED Legs and wires get a bit tight making the angles.  Yes even with cut back led legs.

Any ideas?

Here is the clip.

You need to import the stl into your favourite 3D CAD software. Depending on what software you are using, you may or may not be able to do anything with it.

If it were me, I'd import it into a CAD file twice (each as separate bodies), I'd leave one part alone, but the other, I'd scale with respect to a vertical plane to make it the required length, before appropriately slicing and adding the bodies together.

Alternatively, you could import the body into the CAD part then add a pad/extrusion onto the face you want to extend.
