Kio
Hello all, (sorry for my poor english, I'am not native speaker) For a start a little story. When my friend wanted me to design 3D model of Bristol Centaurus engine, I fall in love into the shapes of the Tempest. Since I have Mk.II done for long time, I decided for Mk.V by Academy. I said to myself, I have a model, I have metal parts, I have resin parts. ... So I have to open the box and the project ... After looking at what i have I said to myself "what is it?" I have to do it again and so I sat down at the computer again and start designing a new parts. ... new wheelbay ... new cockpit ... why not the gunbay ? ... why not the engine ... ? And now all the 3D design is finished... all the parts are made and dry-tested if fits ... And now begin the real build. I don't know how to place there some images ... (Insert image from URL doesn't work) Renders: http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/sachta_render_export.jpg http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/cockpit_render.JPG http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/zbrane_render.JPG http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/motor_render_export.jpg Real print engine http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/napier_sabre.jpeg http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/motor_maly.jpg http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/motor_maly.jpg http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/motor_fit.jpg http://spl-liberec.cz/img/tempest/kridla_mala.jpg Edited October 11, 2020 by Kio

If there is more interest, then probably yes ... but I'am not sure that Academy kit is good base for this conversion because of the thin of the body. The conversion to Tempest Mk.VI could be more simple.

wellsprop
@Kio, these are stunning! I've just checked out your website, how much are you selling these for? Do you plan to do 1/48? Are the CAD/stl files public/shared? flyingdoctor
These are amazing! What kind of 3d Printer and software do you use. I have been thinking about getting into this, but mostly the quality does not look good enough, at least for 1/72 scale

When somebody tells me "I like it ... I want it ... is it XY OK ?" It is the best feedback for me and motivation too. I don't want to be expensive, but I can't subsidize it. > Do you plan to do 1/48? Yes (Jumo 211 for He-111 - my friend coax me) .. but my main direction is 1/72 ... Soon will be presented on the same website my friends projects. He is oriented on 1/32. > Are the CAD/stl files public/shared? Not now ... may be in the future some older smaller projects like exhausts.
