EE Lightning T4, RAF Wattisham, 1960s - 1/72nd SWORD

Recommended Posts

Wow!  That's a knockout!

Could easily pass for a larger scale than 1/72.

For me, the figures really set it off beautifully - your figure painting skills are amazing!

Super job all-round! :clap2::thumbsup:

Just had a look through your Flickr build album. Interesting to see all your build thread through photos.

I'm really going to have to get some of that MDF sheeting & make some proper bases, yours has inspired me! 👍

Martin

Glad if I could be of inspiration, Martin :thumbsup: My MDF comes form scrapped large picture frames, the ones you get in craft stores, so I have plenty for my needs, but I think you can source it quite easily

A lot of hard work on your behalf but what a superb Lightning - she looks neat from normal viewing distance & the brave cockpit close ups look great under such close scrutiny - also like the couple of B/W photos you have added.

CJP

Thank you CJP :thumbsup: She actually looks quite dusty, especially on the clear part, upon close inspection, but nothing you can actually see with a bare eye :winkgrin:

Thanks kapam :thumbsup:  Figure painting is my other modelling passion, although it had been quite a while since the last one I painted, before tackling these little guys ...

Superb build and diorama, always like the look of the 2-seater Lightning and you've captured it very well.

Having followed the WIP and been highly impressed at every stage, I'm now blown away by the RFI. Superb Lightning Giorgio, and the base and figures really make for a nostalgic setting. I so miss Lightnings from the display circuit!

Perennially favourite jet.  Predictably skilful and stylish modelling.  Hugely impressive result.  Bonus diorama just to cap-off the all-round excellence.  Nuff said :D

I had no idea this jet was among your favorites, Steve :thumbsup: I'm glad you like my effort, your praise is highly appreciated :thumbsup:
