Delahaye 135

I'm just sorting out a few details on the limousine, and having a look at some real examples of the Chapron Coupe style of 1938.

Mmmmmmm.....

There's that black with crimson scheme I was raving about -

Delahaye 135 chapron coupe Black (1)

Classy or what!?

Now have a look at the back, and the boot lid -

There's another one the has them-

So I'm wondering if I can pull it off without making a crisis. It would require the drilling of 6 holes in the boot lid. 😜‼️

I have one of these..... so far.....

And a wheelnut successfully fixed.

Just in the shot is an effort to fit chrome door handles using the dividing piece from the side windows that I didn't know about when I was doing the door assembly. 🙄

Ooooh.... Those pictures at the top of the previous post make me want to do another one!!

Not much time right now, but I have managed to get one of the racks done.

A faint issue with peeling black paint on the tape, but let's not dwell on that 😁. I may not use the tape on the others.....

That's the mechanic for my Talbot race car. He started out as ground crew for a Spad XIII in 1.28 by Revell, but he's doing a good job with the French cars after a thorough makeover with some overalls and a decent cap.

He's now checking the plugs and oil level before he wipes his hands and takes her for a run.

Let's see, what have I got.....

3 rails for the boot lid. The 2 outers are to get some chrome tape when the plastic recovers from the glue.

I've scratched a new tail light, bigger and chromed that sits on top of my 1st effort. A 2nd one is under way.

A pair of wing mirrors with chrome mirrors and the backs will be painted.

And the driver's door handle.

It looks like the central door hinge, which sits right on the chrome line, should in fact be shiny too.

Oh yeah, some locking handles on the side panels of the bonnet

But these are just tinkering things, and this old girl is nearly ready for the gallery.

Phew..... 😎 It's been epic

Yes, I'm going to call time on the Chapron Coupe and move on.

Or move back.

The yellow Talbot Lago T26 racer is requiring some attention, having been left to one side while I pressed on with this project.

Well, at least the yellow paint will be well dry!

Thanks for your company on this'un 🙏😁
