Armoured Cars and Halftracks GB Chat

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

Well good day, I had not seen this GB before and I should very much like to enter.

I have a Staghound in the stash which I intend some day to paint in a 1970s Syrian scheme to use as an airfield security patrol for a diorama.

I also have a small selection of German WW2 half tracks and armoured cars with no particular theme in mind just yet. Either for an airfield vignette or mini diorama.

My one contribution to the armoured car scene so far is this Brengun resin Russo-Balt Type C in Russian Civil War service.

144th

I should put that on my profile - if in doubt, it's 144 😁

Thought it looked impressive when I was guessing (wrongly) that it was twice that size
Tim, that is very nice indeed!

Don't see it announced in the Rumourmonger, but Gecko has in the works a 1/35 Daimler Armoured Car - finally an injected mold of this!

Those both look like exciting choices.

Your task now is  ... exercise some patience, and make sure you vote when the time comes

That rebuild looks interesting Dave, (think we'd waive the 25% rule for a rebuild).

Is there a build blog out there?

Only just spotted this one, and I do love an AC build, so sign me up.

I've had a MiniArt AEC patiently sitting in the stash for way too long that should fit the bill nicely.

Great to have you with us Andy.
I've spent a good few hours looking at the AECs* on MiniArt's website; the kits look complex, but, knowing your builds, I'm sure you'll give us a great model

*wonder which one you have?

The Mk.II with the 6 pounder, although I wouldn't mind picking up a Mk.I as well. I think the Valentine turret on the early ones looks a lot more graceful then the big clunky boxes on the II's and III's.

Stick my name down for this one, I’ve got a bronco Humber IV in the stash to build.

OK, done, your name is on the list now

Bronco Humber?  Did this one come with a 'Michael Caine' figure?

That was the bronco Humber scout car that came with that figure, not the IV. Although i do want to pick that one up at some point.
