These are all wonderful ideas! We would definitely like to do those, I think once we have a well established customer base that we have attracted through offering more mainstream stuff, we could definitely branch out into the interesting areas, as collectors will be quite invested and interested in anything we produce by that point....hopefully :D.

Just do not overdo the panel lines...they should be non existent in this scale....

Unfortunately like a tank without weathering, planes without panel lines look wrong even in this smaller scale.

Eduard and Sweet have some nice very fine panel lines that apparently Beacon will be basing theirs on.

having built the 3D printed prototypes I'm pretty sure these will end up with very good panel lines for the scale

The model is pretty darn nice, though - the blind-flying hood is a very neat touch!

You should see the match boxes we have here! And lighting the b*st*rds is another thing altogether.....

The toolmakers have sent us a proposed layup for the canopy frames.

As you can see, each kit will comes with a few canopy choices including early, mid and late Bf109 variants (including provision for the F and G variants etc) and the spitfire includes both the early flat canopy, and the pre-MkV blown and PR canopies. We will do another canopy frame for MkV onwards down the line when we do those Spitfire variants.

From Beacon Models' Facebook page. The canopy at the top left is an Erla canopy, which is only relevant for Bf109Gs and later

Are these kits available through retail outlets?

Not yet, still a few things (box, decals, instructions, testing spitfire moulds, etc) need to be finished before Beacon Models is ready to release.
