Working on a little chap to populate the commanders hatch, love figures with afvs but so tricky.....

Anyway meet the headless commander, still more to do but:

Base coat on the arms, but more work to do.

The legs/trousers won't be seen so just a base coat of black applied.

Bit more...

BTW, Alpine figure painted with mostly Vallejo paints on a black base

Still a bit of dry brushing on the cap to do yet and then join the head to the body...

Merry Christmas all, enjoy and stay out of harms way.:santa:

Bottoms up!

Probably the breakfast JD mate!

Have a great day with the family, if you find yourself sharing the dogs bed perhaps time for a brew?

Just the one Tiger related item, so far 🤞, I know there's more somewhere just hoping they haven't been put away for a birthday in Feb! :wall:

Take care

You are really getting the old figure painting malarkey mate, some really nice painting going on fella, your best yet I fear ;)

Thanks Dan, it's not perfect by any means but at least they are going the right way. I actually rather enjoyed it in a masochistic sort of way....

The close up photos are rather more revealing than the mk1 eyeball, must do a little wash to define the fingers.

Cheers

Just been catching up with this build Darryl, I keep forgetting about this area of the forum.

Your Panther looks great!  The paint and effects, the weathering and details are all very nicely done. Looking forward to seeing the end result and it looks as  though that might not be far away.

Looking really good Darryl.  I'm yet to venture into figure painting, but I'd be pretty happy if I could achieve results like yours.

Thanks, just wish I could figure out how it happened so I could do it again!

The shirt was the easy bit it, it's the face that I struggle with, I just kept playing around with it until it looked something like.

I got lots of advice from some of the other chaps on the site, watched various videos and read articles as my earlier attempts had been awful and somehow produced the little chap you see above.

By no means great but at least acceptable to me.

Give it a go,  when it works its surprisingly satisfying!

Good quality figures are easier than cheaper plastic ones, the features are better defined making them easier to paint.

Cheers

Darryl.... This link and the following video worked well for me. Breaks things down into very simple steps.

Thanks Lee, they make it look so easy....

Might be simple steps, just perhaps not simple enough for some!😉

Tbh after watching videos and videos it's now just a case of practice,  practice, practice...

Keep it up, looking forward seeing it in the GB RFI.....

Simon.

Thanks Simon,  it'll be there, just want to add a few more little touches....

Cheers chaps.

I'll try and get some decent pics of the Panther alone done to add to this...

Sun popped out earlier today so couldn't let it go to waste!
