Gloss coat over AK Aluminium

Hi guys so i sprayed my P51 mustang in AK aluminium  silver whats the best gloss coat to spray over the add the decals ?...i used windsor and newton galeria acrylic mediums on my b17 and the humbrol decal fix seemed to react with it ?

AK's Intermediate Gauzy Agent gives a really hi gloss shine, is easy to spray (straight from the bottle) and hasn't reacted with the decals and microsol. Never used Humbrol's decal fix so can't comment on that, though I don't see why it should provided the decalfix is given 24 hours to thoroughly dry and any residue wiped clean,

I would use Alclad II's clear-coat--either the water-based aqua gloss or the lacquer-based clear gloss.  Either will work wonders.

I don't think a gloss coat is necessary, especially over metallic finishes.

Humbrol decal fix is strong stuff containing ammonia. Microsol is better for general use unless the decals are really difficult. 

 

Seeing as ammonia can be used as an ingredient in airbrush cleaner, you can see how it might react with certain acrylics, I've had glossy patches appear where I've applied it too liberally. I'd recommend changing your setting solution, not your gloss coat.
