Anteater
From the build thread here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235079632-tamiya-124-lotus-7-caterham-bda-conversion/&tab=comments#comment-3841524 This kit has been a pleasure to build and the end result is a passable Caterham complete with BDA power courtesy of an Italeri Escort. The Lotus kit was an original old-stock item from the mid 80s and I must have built the donor Escort around 1990. As the Caterham is a bitsa it felt right to register it on a British Q plate, which denotes a car made up from parts of indeterminate age and origin. Have a few photos showing the differences between it and and the standard Lotus 7 Series II kit. It's not 100% percent accurate but I've picked up the key changes and included some of my own tweaks such as the widened transmission tunnel which are necessary to make it work at kit scale. So there we go. Tamiya are reissuing the kit so I'd recommend buying one up as soon as they're available. Now I've used up my stock of originals, I'll need to buy a reissue to work on some other ideas I have. There is so much potential. Spiny
Excellent job on both of these, it's been interesting to see the conversion in the build thread (although I'm not sure I would have the nerve to try that myself!)
Toftdale
Handsome pair, it amazing how simple exterior changes such as wheels, rear lights and front indicators make such a difference!
Natter
Nice garage pics, but where's the model?
quieto
Great model 😃 and fantastic news about reissuing
Anteater
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad it looks good on-screen too. These cars have one other important quality - they take up very little room on the shelf!
Marco F.
Lovely result! and the pics of both of your 7 look fantastic I agree... the Tamiya super7 kit is a perfect base for a neverending story of customizing this icon, just like the original... not always easy and sometimes not for the performance but at least for the optic Marco F

Davie
I followed the build thread with interest and you've made a great model. Really enjoyed seeing you put your own ideas in it as most builders would do in the 1:1 car.

Thanks again. The above is what I try to do with models - if I'm making modifications I want them to be credible as far as possible. If the gearbox won't fit in the tunnel, it's the tunnel that needs to change rather than shaving the gearbox down, although the latter would be easier! I'm still miles away from people who really know what they're doing but it's fun learning and experimenting. I like trying to solve problems in 3 dimensions because otherwise that part of my brain wouldn't get used.
injidup
Nice conversion! I'd love to make a model of my Westfield with a Nissan SR20, but can’t find an SR20 engine! BTW this kit is about to be re-released with seatbelts and more photo etch.
Natter
MRE - not quite 'Meal; Ready to Eat', rather 'Motor; Ready to Enjoy'.
mbdesignart
Excellent conversion and detail work. As you say with the re-release by Tamiya so many possibilities for other variants.
