TimJ
As I mentioned in the chat I was thinking of adding a second, simpler build in case I encountered any problems with the Talbot Lago. I remembered that I bought this a few years ago and thought I'd enter it in the GB as I've never seen one built up . DSCF1725 by timothy jones, on Flickr Most of the 24 parts are contained on one sprue, with the body separate. DSCF1726 by timothy jones, on Flickr DSCF1727 by timothy jones, on Flickr The decals are for the Jolly Club entry for the 1981 Le Mans 24 hours, driven by Martino Finotto, Giorgio Pianta and Giorio Schon, which finished in 14th place. Despite how they look in the photo they are a bit yellowed so I'll stick them in the window and see if that helps. If not I have found some aftermarket decals which I might splash out on. DSCF1728 by timothy jones, on Flickr Instructions are in the usual Heller style with assembly details on one side with paint and decal info on the other. JeroenS
That's a nice collection Tim! Welcome with your second build and good luck. Judging by your other builds you'll do just fine 🙂
JOCKNEY
Great to see a Lancia of any description being built especially one with this history. Best of luck with the build. Cheers Pat
TimJ
While the car may be turbocharged my build rate certainly isn't. There has been some progress, starting with the interior, which has been painted as per the instructions. I may have to give the seat a coat of matt varnish as it looks a little shiny. DSCF1755 by timothy jones, on Flickr I couldn't find any reference photos of the underside of the real car so a photo of a 1/24 Esci kit had to do. Considering that this is one part it doesn't look too bad after some detail painting. DSCF1756 by timothy jones, on Flickr The body had some sink marks across the front of the bonnet and on the wing supports so a bit of filler was required. DSCF1757 by timothy jones, on Flickr The decals are looking less yellow after being in the window for a few days so hopefully I'll be able to use them instead of splashing out on an aftermarket set.
TimJ
The wheels have been painted and fitted to the chassis along with the interior. DSCF1759 by timothy jones, on Flickr The body has been primed and given a few coats of Halfords Appliance White. JOCKNEY
Great work Tim That bodyshell looks the business, and should really show off that great interior. Cheers Pat
TimJ
Thanks Pat. Not much to show for nearly 3 weeks but I have done some detail painting and applied a few decals to the front end. DSCF1828 (2) by timothy jones, on Flickr

CliffB
The decals look great from here Tim. No visible yellowing, even against the unforgiving white .
JeroenS
Hi @TimJ, this is your friendly host again 🙂 How's this little gem coming along?
TimJ
Considering that this was supposed to be my quick build progress has been slow, more down to me than the kit. The rest of the decals are on. Some of the longer decals did break up into a few parts which needed careful realignment and some touching up with red paint. The adhesive quality of the decals left a lot to be desired too as even after being on for a couple of weeks parts of them would come off when handled so a carefully applied coat of Klear was used to keep them in place. The clear parts have also been added and a black wash used on the panel lines and grilles. DSCF1868 by timothy jones, on Flickr The steering wheel disappeared into the care of the carpet monster for a couple of weeks but has reappeared so I should have it finished tomorrow. JeroenS
It looks very good Tim. Good to hear that the monster cannot always digest everything it feeds on!
TimJ
The Lancia is finished. A nice little kit that went together well. As mentioned before there were a few issues with the decals and did lose a couple from the front due to poor adhesion. JOCKNEY
Congratulations Tim, your Lancia looks every bit the menacing original, delighted see this one finished. Wouldn't this have looked the business if Scalextrics had offered one for us to race with as nippers ! cheers Pat
