Toryu
Great model and diorama. I love DAK topics. Just a small note - PzRgt 5 belonged to the 21st PzDiv, and PzRgt 8 to the 15th PzDiv. All Pz IV were assiged to the 4th and 8th company. These were the 'heavy' companies. According to the sign on the left front fender, you built a Pz IV of the 4th company of PzRgt 8 (4./PzRgt 8 which is in the 1st battalion) or of the 8th company (8./PzRgt 8 which is in the 2nd battalion), belonging to the 15th PzDiv. Thanks, Michael
Longbow
Very nice work !! I have the same kit. Is there any fit issues to worry about ? Such as the turret hatches ?
JackG
Very good looking model and presentation. 👍 I'd be interested in seeing some comment on the construction as well. Though not an actual build review, Bruce Worall has an extensive 1 hour long look inside the box (youtube link), and gives a lot of little pointers. One of the main items I recall is that the provided metal gun barrel is too long a length for this particular kit. regards, Jack
Peter Marshall
Weren't any problems with the build at all (didn't use the kit tracks so can't comment on the Link and Length tracks). The only minor gotcha is a slight gap on the front glacis plate, but nothing a very thin card shim won't fix easily. The metal barrel is a bit of an odd fit, but does fit properly if you leave off the breachblock
JackG
According to Bruce, the problem of the metal barrel is not one of proper fit. It's length is of the L/48 caliber, which did not appear on the Ausf.G model til March/April 1943. Prior to that it had the L/43 size barrel. regards, Jack
IanC
Nice work, although I reckon that panzer crew would have fixed the track without too much bother - nick a pin from the spares on the front!
EpicPlastic
Great work, i just purchased this kit and will start with it soon. Hope i'll be able to produce something similar to yours too, it's been ages since i last built a WW2 panzer!
