cherry268
I always try and make a couple of models at a time as I can't paint inside so often get stuck. I was going to build the Heller Ferguson but it is not eligible. So instead of building that I decided to do another that was eligible Introducing the Citreon B.14 "Normande" I checked on Scalemates so it should be OK, no doubt I will be asked to leave if it isn't Here she is box and sprues
TonyW
A Woodie Pickup! That's a new one on me. The full length soft top is a very unusual feature. It's amazing the variety this GB is throwing up. Tony.
JeroenS
Very nice! No worries, it's elligible. It's a rebox of kit nr. 727, the B14 "Torpedo de Luxe" from 1983. Good luck with this one and I'll be following for sure.

wimbledon99
The wood looks good so far. I've found that a coat of thinned 'clear orange' (Tamiya x26) helps to bring it out; bit like on oil treatment on the real thing.

Thanks, I have seen a video on YouTube that does brown then orange, I'll give it a try I think

I'm pretty sure everyone on the site can empathise with what you say here
PeterB
Just like building planes - lot of work inside the fuselage and engines with little to show, but once you close up the fuselage, it seems to be no time before the wings etc are on and you are nearly there. Painting wood effect is a skill I have yet to master. I asked Heather about painting teak coaches and she pointed me at a couple of very useful articles, and I seem to remember they put orange on first and then dry brush the brown over so it is streaky- could be wrong! No doubt there are several ways to achieve the same effect. Some of the builds of Wingnut Wings kits I have seen use oils on the prop with good results as you can work them for quite a long time before they dry. It's looking good so far! cherry268
Not a lot done on this as my little modelling time is mostly spent on the MF2680 I have started painting wood effect on body, not ready to show it yet I have also fitted exhaust and am in the process of fitting some plug leads
cherry268
It's about time I updated this, same as the MF2680 progess is slow and cockups don't help Photos will be put on later Biggest issue I have had with this getting some plug leads on it. According to the internet, which always tells the truth, this was fitted with a tube that sweeps over exhaust manifold and holds plug leads. I had a brilliant idea which I spent too long on and it went in bin So I did it a different way which looks...... well I let you decide Since the start I have been slowly trying to get a wood effect on rear body which looks okay. I have started to mask the sides so I can put dark wood colour on strengthening ribs Chassis is getting there and wheels are on So photos will arrive later, hopefully after some more time tonight as my weekly snooker night is cancelled
cherry268
And so the photos Haven't done much more tonight on this. Couldn't resist taking the last one just to give me idea what it may look like I have started masking the body but need to get a new blade fitted to trim Edited November 18, 2020 by cherry268 Spelling

CliffB
Yes, that woodwork is looking very good. I can't be easy getting a consistent grain effect with all the framework.
Wez
I've never seen one of these, looks like a curious mixture of a car, a boat and a sunshade! The chassis looks the business, keen to see the woodwork. Good luck with it.
fightersweep
Looking good! Nice job on the woodgrain, and I do like the burgundy wheels with the silver trim. Very eye catching.
cherry268
This is progressing slowly but haven't done a lot since last update. Managed to get some paint on bonnet and body that looks half reasonable after two failures Too cold outside and in shed and I managed to do some at work but it's not the most ideal place Also been doing the rest of wooden body The framing is supposed to be a darker wood so have started to do some of that
JeroenS
I think that's starting to come together very nicely.
cherry268
This one is progressing slowly I managed to get the roof painted and the woodwork is about finished. Just sorting the cabin out, dash is in and got the seat, pedals and gearchange to fit in. Just fitted headlamps but not glass Photos are rubbish , sorry
cherry268
Very slow progress, just managed to the odd few minutes over the last week. I have fitted body to chassis and done some more to interior Also removed all the masking from the panels on the body Still some cleaning up and retouching but does it look like wood, I'll let you decide
