alt-92
Bite-sized start to the GB for me: Slightly confused by the extra wings in the kit, but it'll all make sense someday. I'll probably go with an interpretation on the Sea Blue/Grey on the bottom one. have to say there's some lovely detail on this kit though..

I am a big fan of the KP AZ Model Spitfires and have built this very kit. It came together very well. Yes, there are some gaps here and there, but nothing to cry about really. I am looking forward to your build!

alt-92
buttoned up and seam cleanup Also added the bar behind the cockpit (scratch strip again) Did a testfit of the wings, turns out the fuselage is just a bit wider than the Vokes filter. To get a good fit on that, you need to 'squeeze' the wing roots a tiny bit. In order to get it right, I added the thinnest plastic strips on the inside of the wing root. The tab in the middle guides the fuselage fit, and the Vokes will now line up properly.
alt-92
A bit of progress alongside everyday work. All buttoned up, wings and tailfeathers stuck on and Vokes added. I did have to do some repair work because of a nasty ridge on the airfilter, but re-applied the fasteners with a punch set. Some more minor repairs are underway, and the canopy which forms part of the fuselage behind the tank will be fettled to fit & masked.
alt-92
Has it been a month? Wow, ok.. After a primer coat of light grey, a very thin coat of Vallejo Middle Stone added. This will get the dark earth (also thinned) and some inventively mixed up shade will cover that later. The undersides have received the Azure Blue for the regular MTO scheme, with a light pre-marble followed by a thin top layer. I'll let that dry and mask up the undersides tomorrow for the rest.
alt-92
Well... The motivation is a bit lacking (huh.. I wonder why) so let's get at least one over the line. Dark Med Blue on top, with a lighter dusting (a mix of DMB, Mirage grey and Dark Blue) on the exposed bits. Undersides in Azure Blue just wouldn't work, so that has been changed to Sky Blue. Followed by a clear coat for decals. Unusual for me, the antenna broke (twice!) after the pics.
