Plumbum
I decided to do this first before my F-100F Misty FAC. This will give me practice on the drooped slats. I am just "drooping" them a little not fully dropping them as I don't want to fully do the acutating mechanism. I have seen static pics of them with the slats slightly drooped. The kit is the old but very good ESCI kit, I am using the finned napalm from the Italeri F-100F kit and then 2 Mk 82 snakes from my Hasegawa weapons set. Question, do the snakes or napalm go on the inner pylon? I have seen both. Here is where I am at, I started by cutting the upper flaps and have just scored the lower flaps. I usually do the cockpit first but wanted to get the hard part done first.---John
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Haven't seen one of these in forever so going to follow your build.
Jackson Duvalier
I'm interested in how you engineer the slat-drooping bits and will also be following.
Guest
I have one slat assembled from the upper and lower parts. I still need some sanding to fine tune it.---John
Guest
The slats cleaned up nice, I added .020" (.5 mm) card stock to the void left from cutting the slats off.---John
Deano353
The kit looks vintage I like the old school box art of models. Always loved this plane and a good scheme as well to boot!

It was an art, like an album with an eye-catching cover. I don’t know why but I’m the fan of ESCI kits, even if I never had one! I’m in, @Johnv! Nice progress on the slats. Guest
There were some great ESCI kits, not all but some. Their old AV8A Harrier was a diamond in the rough. I also was very impressed with their 1/72 M4A1 Sherman tank with a very nicely done radial engine! The outer 1/3 of the slats were too high so I "plained" them by scraping with my X Acto knife.---John
Guest
I have the slats on at about the amount of droop I want.---John
Guest
Moving right along. I have the slats installed, wings on, fuselage assembled with cockpit and pylons on. Almost ready to paint.---John
Guest
The gray is painted and I have the weapons ready to paint. The snakes are from my Hasegawa weapons set and the napalm is from my 1/72 Italeri F-100F kit.---John
Guest
Off to paint this afternoon, will be getting low humidity for a change. I want to get as much done as possible before my Bush planes arrive. I am doing a double Bush build, G H W's TBM-1C Avenger and his son's Dubya's F-102A, both 1/72 scale.---John
