After many months of lurking and taking in all the great info on this forum, I have decided to finally join the party. My story is one that seems to be pretty typical as of late. I started building plastic model airplanes as a kid and drifted away for many years (mostly into wooden ships, so not completely out of the hobby if you will). A few events combined to get me hooked again. The first was the National IPMS convention being held in our state last summer, which I was lucky enough to attend. The second was seeing the availability and quality of acrylic paints, which was an absolute eye-opener for me. I ended up buying a Zoukei Mura F-4j at that show and have been hooked ever since. My interest is mostly jets, although lately I have been taking an interest in WW2 fighters. I couldn't even begin to describe how much I have learned both about modeling and history from the members on this site, so I am excited to join.
