Looks great Werner.

But check your reference.

At least some of the Israeli B's had under belly strakes fitted.

Look here:  https://photostock-israel.photoshelter.com/image/I00001nXuSbUmjxs

and here: 43-3.jpg

I got a stalled IDF/AF Mirage IIIB on the shelf of Doom, but perhaps I'll finish it some day.

I think all B/D models have those strakes. Not mounted yet simply on meine...., but thanks anyways!

I think improves directional / yaw stability of the longer nosed two-seaters

What happened to yours may I ask?

front view, no great photo, but a great view on the Mirage IIIs complicated wing shape and profile over span

and I mounted the flap tracks and keel and forward nuder fuselage strakes

and some improved seat detail over the plastic parts...

  • 2 months later...

Panther tank french colors done and 2 Tornados finished ... so on with this girl here!

way too much rest for the poor Mirage!

kTbAxvJ.jpg

HUD (was this a genuine HUD back then?) and blast shield glued on

w6kOaI1.jpg

canopy masked, sits nicely!

I am currently just wandering what to load her with.

until when did Israel use the original French (i.e. finless non jettisonable 500l tanks?)

this one, already in Argentine service of course also had the jettisonable tanks...

https://k61.kn3.net/taringa/F/6/7/1/4/4/27flanker/F32.jpg

there are definitely very photos of finned tank Mirages out there.... so somehow I suppose the French version was not used at all.....

I also have supersonic Swiss? design center tank, or I suppose the older round 650 l wing tanks form an Eduard kit would be an option as well... I am a bit short on RP62 1300l tanks, only one left from the last AMK Kfir kit!

thanks for your valuable input!

cheers!

Hi Exdraken,

this two-seater is starting to look spot on!

Looking at the above photo, I did notice that I did make the same (small) mistake than you.

The end of the outer elevon actuator ends up a mm or two from the wing's trailing edge, when it should be level with it, like the inner one!

I am still waiting for the earth to stop rotating...

Thousand of models must have been built that way. Thank you Heller!

Great show!

Great work! Actually, a Mirage looks super cool in an overall black finish. Very sleek.

yeah, it would! :D

it looks much better in polished aluminum though!

would an Israeli Mirage IIIB have the lower rear painted in cinc cromate / yellow/ green, brown color as well?

as far as I understand this was associated with the SEPR rocket motor. but then the CJ did not have this either....no

the red intakes.... difficult shape, difficult color!

I did not think about that before.. I thought decals, but it is the 2 seater! there are none included... and then making the C model ones fit a Heller B :(

so I started masking today...

first time I coverd the complete model (I hope!) I am kinda afraid of the red... on the shiny bird!

but here it is....
