Windy37
My third Aoshima kit , a BMW M3 group A rally car . Built and run by Prodrive before Subaru fame , the M3 was very effective on tarmac rallies in the late 80s . This car finished second on the 1989 Tour de Corse rally , driven by Francois Chatriot . The previous year the same rally was won by a Rothmans sponsored M3 . The Bastos cigarette decals were from Spotmodels and apart from a homemade handbrake lever and sump guard it is built out the box . The kit fits together really well and the decals fit and go down perfectly . The kit is basically the touring car kit , with added rally parts and as such I think the ride height is too low , even for tarmac rally car . I don’t think this spoils the look though . I did a Work in progress during the build , here’s some completed pictures. Thanks for having a look , Gary .

Steve Noble
Very nice build Gary, it turned out well!! As for the suspension, well I think it's maybe a tiny bit low, but only just. Doesn't detract from a beautiful build 🙂 What's the next model you'll build?
Windy37
Thanks, Pat . Tres bien maybe !? . Thanks , Steve . I m pleased it's a tarmac car . It would be far too low for a gravel rally ! I'm doing research for the Belkits 6R4 . I have been building in our summer house, ideal in summer , no dust , plenty of natural light but too cold in winter , so progress maybe slow indoors . However I have really enjoyed my last two builds so I'm feeling up for the 6R4 challenge. Gary .
FunkyChiken
It may well be too low, but it looks racey! Great build...
