zebra
I built one of these when it first came out, about 28 years ago. It goes together nicely but apparently has some accuracy issues - the fuselage is said to be too wide - however it still looked the part to me at the time and if you want a Tu-95 (as opposed to Tu-142 - which I converted my Tu-95 to all those years ago) with a glass nose it's still the only one available. And it'll probably be cheaper than the Trumpeter kit. New tool would be nice though.
mack
In my opinion a "new and up-to-date" Tu-95/142 series in 1/144 scale is a must project for Zvezda. After their excellent Tu-154, 134, Il-62 and 76 I had hopes for a re-focus on some bombers, the above mentioned Bear family and a Myasishchev M-4/ 3M. For the moment we only have a re-box of an old-ish and not so well rated kit... I can only accept this if they are secretly working on all the airplanes above plus the Tu-114, Tu-104 and Il-18. Regards,

general melchett
This one’s been reissued several times, including by Zvezda in 2013 (new decals). Accuracy wise, there are a few shape issues including a too-wide wing root and oddly angled engine nacelles, apparently the fuselage might be too wide but I haven’t checked. Komplect Zip released an accurate resin replacement engine/nacelle/prop set for the kit, still available from NeOmega Resin here in the UK. For it’s time (1992) it builds up to a pretty reasonable representation of a Bear D, we need a new one though.
