It's about time for an update although the photos won't get on till later

Not having a lot of modelling time progress is slow and cockups don't help

I have managed to repaint the bonnet and wings and they are acceptable, to me anyway, and also painted grill

Still on a learning curve to catch up with you lot of master modellers.

I have assembled the rear linkage with the plated rams which look ok

Front mudguards also suffered with paint problems and have had to be redone

Front axle fitted and also wheels. Tyres are on but need looking at which I will do at later date

Still trying to work out way of removing moulding line without damaging it.

Starting to paint seat which hopefully will get done tonight as my weekly snooker night is cancelled

I've took off masking from cab which looks OK

So I am getting there, three steps forward and two back😀

So we progress slowly, again two steps forward and one back

Had some problems with cab floor, why is it when it says matt on the tin its not, perhaps it was when bought it

Have to bite the bullet and go the Vallejo route, Always have used Humbrol but tried a Tamiya black and yuk

Probably me but anyway got some thing like in the end

So onto seat and dash

Why is it when it says satin on tin it comes out gloss, so I have to tone that down a bit

Cab is coming on, don't like the decals for front and rear lights but have gone with them. It shows it's origin as a snap fit kit

The front side lights and indicators were clear to start with so have used some clear orange and that looks good

Bonnet decals went on well and I quite happy with it but again exhaust and air intake want toning down

Couldn't resist the all together shot but as you can see its not together properly

Well, you seem to be moving in the right direction! When you go Vallejo, go for Model Colour, not the Model Air. The Model Colour brushes on very nicely, thinned with tap water. The Model Air paint is a bit rubbery or something.

Some great modelling going on here, I don't think I've ever seen a tractor so clean though

They all start out like this but I am not sure I am ready to take it out in the field yet.

I want to take a picture of it finished and I am still undecided whether to weather/ruin it

Don't go ruining it on account of me.

This all looks brilliant.... What a great subject and hats off to Heller for doing it, too!

I'll have a proper read through the first page for a catch up.

Those tyres look very good, an epic bit of moulding.

Looking forward to seeing this come together 😎

I'm surprised that John Deere hasn't been onto them to get their green machines modelled. They like to keep a high profile in the public eye

Well things are progressing and final assembly has started.

Cab and bonnet are on

Just a bit of tidying up and the tyres need something. I am slowly trying to get rid of moulding line and the must do something with them

Try a coat of Tamiya rubber black and see where we are at with that

Last assembly to sort is the front weight, it's supplied with a solid weight whereas it should be in segments

The picture on front of box shows it like this but the weight is not

I have cut some lines in it and will paint it tomorrow and then put a black wash in lines and see if that works

So we are nearly there

Final update, although it's took some time to do

Painted weight and fitted and it looks better than it did, at least it gives the impression they are separate weights

Painted tyres with Tamiya tyre black and then had to decide how to dirty them up as they just don't look right even on a new tractor

So how to dirty them up?

What ever I do must not ruin

Brainwave, use dirt

So off down the garden we went and hey presto dirty tyres

And so she is done.

Nowhere near some peoples standards here but it's met mine

I need to take some better pictures before I put in gallery

Nice work! I think you did a great job on this one, even more so considering it's a snap tite kit.

And real life weathering too, good idea 🙂
