Greg Law
This is one of my Battle of Britain projects. This is a model of a KG 26 plane that was in the 15th of August northern raids. It was shot down into the sea, but the crew survived. The plane is an H-4 which carried the it's bombs on external racks. To achieve this I have used the ICM He 111H-3 kit and taken the external bomb rack part from the H-6 torpedo bomber kit. The 'M' is a home made decal. Sorry I forgot to turn the wheels onto their flats for the photo session. To see more images use this link. This Hurricane flew against these bombers in the raid.
Gary Brantley
Wow! Beautiful work Greg! The cockpit glazing looks fantastic dude!
Greg Law
Thanks Gary. You have no idea how difficult it was. I put the glazing part together at least three times. I've been stressing for months that it would end up foggy and covered with CA.
Vinnie
Very nice finishing, Greg and I agree with Gary. The canopy looks great. I hate these multi section clear parts.
IanC
Fantastic build. Heinkel canopy glazing would test anyone's patience - you've nailed it.
Elias
Nice Heinkel! Did H-4's took part in BoB?
jackroadkill
That's a really smart model - and whilst we're talking about that huge glasshouse, that's the part which has put me off making one of these myself so far. You've done a brilliant job on it.
Rabbit Leader
That’s so good Greg, really excellent stuff. It’s always nice to see a good Heinkel, even better when its finished off this well. Cheers and well modelled.. Dave

Greg Law
9 hours ago, Elias said: Nice Heinkel! Did H-4's took part in BoB? Yes the early H-4's were used in the northern raids. Some of them were H-3's that were converted. The reason for this is they needed to put an extra fuel tank in where one of the bomb rack were. In fact I have done this on the model. If you look at the two side on shots you will see one side shows the inside bomb rack and the other side appears to be blank, which is infact the side of the tank I scratch built and installed. The paint is Mr Hobby Aqueous H64 for RLM71 and H65 for RLM70 for RLM65 I used H418. However, I find their RLM65 is a bit dark for the BOB period. On the Ju 88A1 I have used Tamiya X23 with some white added. It feels more realistic. You should see this next week. Thankyou everyone for the nice comments. This in fact has been a long build, most likely about a year.
