Popular Post Andy Moore
Sopwith Pup "Gnome" Wingnut Wings 1/32 This is WnW's Gnome engined version of the Sopwith Pup, and it's the first kit of theirs that I've built and way out of my comfort zone, being an AFV and Sci-Fi modeller generally. The kit went together without any real issues, although handling it become more difficult as the build went on and a few repairs were needed along the way. The single biggest job was the masking for the stripes, although I simplified it as much as possible by breaking the painting down into stages, rather than trying to mask and spray the whole thing in one go. I wasn't looking forward to the rigging due to my zero experience with it, but it went reasonably well once I got the hang of it. Thanks for looking Andy 86

pacificmustang
Just amazing Andy. How easy are the vallejo colours to manipulate to recreate stains lie that, do you need to add the glaze for it to work? Regards Bruce

Actually, it wasn't that difficult, just time consuming. It was all straight lines, so just a case of adjusting the tape until it looked about right. The wings were easy since the stripes were 10mm wide and I was using 10mm Tamiya tape. 7 hours ago, pacificmustang said: Just amazing Andy. Yes, I added glaze medium and the paint is very easy to work with after that. Very similar to using oils, but the paint dries faster so it can be over-coated sooner, and it's less delicate once dry. Toryu
Extraordinary. I always wonder how top modellers get the parts glued together without 'accidents' after painting such a delicate scheme. Very very good!

ColinChipmunkfan
Wow, what painting skills. The decking and wooden parts look so realistic and the weathering is so well observed. I really like the way you have treated the wheels. I have WW Pup, your model will be a reference point when I start it.

Duncan B
Wow! Honestly, that first photo made the hairs on my arm stand up. I've never had a reaction to seeing a model like that before! I'm at a loss to tell you how good that looks to me, 'superb' doesn't seem to cover it. Thanks for sharing your build with us and for building a kit that many other people would be tempted to cash in. Duncan B
Gary Brantley
Well, once you get comfortable with those aircraft models...yeah, right. 😉 😄 If that one was outside your comfort zone, I'm excited about seeing the next few builds.👍 Wow, that is a breathtakingly superb model Andy! Man, you got it! More please. 😀 1
Epeeman
Andy, I'm seriously impressed - I would ever have guessed you have never built a biplane before - an outstanding result on your model Sopwith Pup. I've got this very kit myself in my stash so will be pleased if can achieve a result even close to yours .......... Regards Dave
