aerotechi
Finished this a little while ago. Airfix 1:48 javelin. Really nice model to build fits nicely just let down by the decals. Fin flash too large, “port outboard gun” for the port and starboard side, and flap control on the aileron? Minor let downs on otherwise I really nice model.

exdraken
Great model! What about the fin flash size? Did you correct/ alter it?

Unfortunately I found that it’s too big after it was on. Realised that the gaps and location didn’t match with the instructions or pics I was using for reference. theplasticsurgeon
Nice model, thanks for sharing. The Airfix 1/48 is in my stash, but a kit I've never built. But I see XH903 all the time at Jet Age - I'm a volunteer. And I've imortalised her in 1/72 twice, using Airfix and Novo kits.

Would love to have a proper look inside and out of a javelin. I volunteer at the local museum too so get to play with jets like the sea vixen.

Bill.B
A very nice build, but as far as I can see from your photos the inboard lower flaps and upper wing spoilers are in the correct position and don’t impinge on the ailerons.
Antti_K
Lovely Javelin aerotechi! I'm a big fan of the "Flat Iron" and always delighted to see one. You are right about the decals; they could should be better (more accurate). It seems that many stencils are correct for FAW.4 but not for FAW.9. Also some of the kit's surface details are wrong (like refueling ports, cold air ports for the suits, wrong pylons for drop tanks and missing panels for the antennas). The ailerons are a nice detail in your model, as they should be slightly up on the ground when control lock has been applied. More points for that😉 Cheers, Antti
