How many B did the Royal Navy get?

UK Forces, the RAF and Royal Navy currently have 21 F-35B on strength: 18 based at RAF Marham in Norfolk operated by the RAF's 617 (Dambusters) and Fleet Air Arm's 207 Squadrons; 617 Squadron is the forst frontline unit and 207 Squadron is the Operational Conversion Unit.  The remaining 3 airframes are still based in the United States and are operated by 17 (Reserve) Squadron in the trials and development role.   The aircraft are operated in a "Joint Forces" role so both UK based squadrons will deploy from the Royal Navy's Aircraft Carriers.

207 is not a Royal Navy FAA squadron, it is RAF.  The next UK squadron to form on the F-35B will however be FAA and was previously announced to be 809.

The photo GMK provided in the first post is replicated in the Daily Telegraph today, but it isn't as cropped as the one in GMK's post and shows 14 aircraft on the flight deck;

You might fall foul of the paywall, though

Yes, there is a workarund to the paywall, which involves clicking on the link you want, then hitting the refresh button to stop it loading as soon as you see the article you want on screen.

Oh, they will be mostly USMC, even though the Telegraph doesn't make that clear.

I look at the Guardian website, but occasionally look to see what the Telegraph and Mail say, to try and get a balanced viewpoint    :unsure:
