It was the final drives that let the Panther down ...... they had straight cut gearing instead of helical a big mistake especially on a tank, even if it wasn't as heavy as later vehicles.

Longbow
Not much done yesterday and today. Had to work most of today, and about to head out again. Here’s where the M4a1 76 (W) stands. The gap in the transmission bolt strip was fixed, and the turret reshaped and textured.

The panzerwrecks books are good for that. 6 hours ago, M3talpig said: Must say i'm looking forward to it to...all the more fun with you and Darryl along for the ride. Nothing wrong with a Spit, who's kit is it, Tamiya 1/48 Vb? (Just going off the tan coloured plastic). However the holes have been drilled or have you done that? Nothing wrong with a little variety in life, within reason...sorry ma'am! Don't tell Steve but you aren't the only one to stray from the path 🤫😉 What ever you do don't tell Steve he'll have a fit! Whos is the M4a1 that's under way or did I miss that earlier? Cheers

The Spit is the 1/32 MkIX. I know it needs some work, but I couldn't resist at the cheap price. It actually needs a Lot of work lol..... The M4a1 is the Tamiya M1 Super Sherman kit, which again needs a LOT of work to bring it up to par, sort of, as even with the work it won't be a "Super" kit....... See what I did there ??
