LCM 3 Diorama Completed

Just a suggestion but have you tried lightly scraping a curved scalpel blade over the outer holes this might also help create the depression I used this on fletcher as well as the Dremel with a sphere shaped grinding bit

you can see the bit next to the wire brush then a light sanding this should thin the edges of the hole

It's good fun all this experimenting lark

Right I'm sorted!

Home burnishing wheel to remove the burrs

P1110375

This removes the burrs from the aluminium foil

P1110387

I've put the pen there to show the scale of any slight burring remaining

Now to start destroying a perfectly good kit

Kev, can't wait see you're painting magic bringing the rust alive.

Looking at your last photo in the post above, it looks like rust pitting on the extreme left (no holes, just the metal surface rusted away).  That would be a nice effect as well.

for light entertainment i read complex, and quality, mk2 looks bang on, we haven't all got macro-vision ,what you've done there is mighty fine,   the oil  canning effect reducing as you get higher up the hull seems most realistic to me

Thank you Dan 👏

Dan will be arranging a cruise to see this fine vessel in her sister. Please bring plenty of chewing gum and a life jacket

That has to be the most realistic rust I have ever seem. It made me shiver at the thought of catching my hand on it!

Glad to see you are supporting the local model shop. I have ventured up there a couple of times in the last 12 months. One visit was with 4 other colleagues from BM, three of whom were some of our American cousins over for Telford. We'd spent a large part of the day at the FAA museum at Yeovilton so it seemed natural to whisk them up to Frome. Great place (the Model Centre and Yeovilton)!
