825
The next Italian kit pulled from the stash is this. Initially designed as an anti aircraft gun, like the Flak88 it was also used as an anti tank weapon. This is is a simple kit comprising of a single sprue of not many pieces. The plastic is softish, not quite as soft as the old Airfix polythene figures, and it does sand, albeit it needing a fair bit of heft. And it is crisply detailed but I do worry about whether solvent will glue it together. And another sprue with 8 crew. Same plastic and it's just as well it sands as there are seams and moulding pips aplenty. Simple instructions on the back of the box, although the painting details for the figures are nice. It shouldnt take take long to build but it'll be good practice for another Italeri dragged from the stash.
825
Apparently quite a complex piece of artillery although could be very effective. If anyone's interested here's some basic information. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannone_da_90/53

rob85
This looks cool, also like the fact it comes with ‘servants’ I thought luxury’s were only saved for officers in the WW2 Italian army! Rob
825
Thanks @Ozzy and @SoftScience it's fairly straightforward and fun to see it coming together so quickly. After a little while we are here. First the base assembled and the gun then the seats and mount Put them all together and we have a cannone
825
Now with a coat of paint on. Shows that a little bit of cleaning up is needed. Rob It's not only the Italians Rob, I've got a Pak 40 which has servants too. Here are the Italian servants cleaned up and painted.

Ive cleaned up the seams, put some more paint on and dry brushed the base plate with Gunmetal. I've put the two seated crew on but they were not the willing servants and kept falling off. They're also impervious to solvent so I'll probably have to break out the cyano. Almost done though.
825
The plastic on the crew is quite soft and the paint has tended to rub off with handling. I'll put a coat of Kleer on and see if that helps. Once dried I'll touch the paint up, it's mainly the rifles and hands, then seal again with some matt varnish. It was a bit frustrating to re-do some of the figure painting but a coat of Kleer before touching up and a a coat of matt varnish afterwards has done the trick. I also managed to glue the two seated crew with Gator Grip. You can see how the paint rubbed off here.
