John Masters
Lots of little fiddly bits that important, some PE, some not. The upper wing has received its share of control horns, etc...4 more on the underside. Also the supports for the aileron trims. I think that what they are. Little wings on top of the ailerons. The fuselage received its layer of primer. Scarf ring, Lewis guns, propeller and water coolant radiator tanks...all primed. Nice moulded detail on the scarf ring, btw... And we continue on... --John

Didn’t realise they were still in use in the 40s. An alternative might to only lead the wires through the holes in the PE but instead of terminating there, attach the ends to the plastic the traditional way. I see the temptation of attaching only to the PE, that would make things considerably easier - if the PE/plastic bonds hold that is. I am happy to see someone else trying this first I'm also watching this to get some tips on rigging. I'm glad I don't have to do any on my build..... Good luck

I also find that superglue sticks everything except the rigging, still sets off a model though and once you get a 'rhythm' it goes ok. Great work so far on 'a bit left field' subject. Davey. This aircraft is a snap to rig. Only 16 lines. Try rigging a Bristol F.2 or a RAF B.E.2...never ending joy! 1
John Masters
Time for some paint... Light Blue Grey, RLM 76 suits me fine. The profile shows this. It was probably two aircraft put together. Masked first... Paint is on. You can't really tell i the picture. But the difference is there. Until tomorrow... --John
John Masters
The Light Brown, aka 'Sand' goes on. Once again, half the aircraft gets a darker green overall. I'll let that dry overnight and then mask the Light Brown for the darker greens. --John
JOCKNEY
Lovely work John, not an aircraft I'm familiar with but the parts look really nicely finished. Cheers Pat

Thank you Pat! Here is some masking, in preparation for some green... I'll get to that tomorrow sometime. I am hoping to not have a repeat of the terrible paint job on my A-37B. Less thin paint this time... --John
John Masters
Not terrible. I'll take a hairy brush to it and clean up the edges and give it some more contour... \ --John

I have finally come back to this build and added the darker 1930s French Green (my own designation). Obviously there will have to be some touch-ups with the hairy brush, but at this point I think I might be able to attach the top wing. This means that rigging is just around the corner for all you enthusiasts! --John
John Masters
I have been so distracted by this home renovation...My modelling has suffered. I truly feel bad about this. Yet I plod along. The top wing is on. I had to substitute some Evergreen for some struts. It looks twisted. It is not. I can begin the rigging now. --John

occa
I so love this plane and your build is a real inspiration. I hope Frrom / SH will release every version that is, I will buy all of them. I also hope Gilles will release the promised additional decal sheets as soon as possible. Can't wait to see it rigged, fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Well, we shall see. The rigging begins. I will use monofilament and stretched sprue. The mono I will tint with black marker. It's .008mm... Up onto the jig, break out the hemostats, fresh CA and a sharpened toothpick. And sprue for the cabanes and 'X' rigging on the interplane struts. OK. Some little pieces left to add (bombs, fuel tanks, Lewis guns, wheels, prop, decals). Then into the gallery. Tomorrow... --John
JOCKNEY
Great stuff John I thought you were tying a Salmon fly for a moment there, I was looking in the background for coloured feathers etc ! Keep up the good work. Cheers Pat
