Tamiya M10

More weathering up inside the turret, being open topped I reckon these got in one hell

of a state very quickly. I'll be adding a dust layer yet around the turret ring and around the flat surfaces

but I though of adding a bit of corrosion in the corner areas where it might congregate.

The Thompson woodwork looks particularly effective.

Almost forgot to let you know the colours used.

Vallejo Panzer aces 310 - old wood and 322 Highlights US tank crew with Vallejo Wookgrain Transparent 70.828. I think they miss typed that one !!

First base coated the stock in the highlights US tank crew, picked out some grain with the old wood and then washed with thinned down woodgrain, I then built up the grain

using the Transparent colour again with a small brush - took me 5 mins to do.

Hey, Dan.
That box the Thompson is attached to is holding the magazines for it.
The top would show the brass rounds, which are molded quite nicely.

Like this. ;)

Great paintwork on the rounds there Lee, looks really realistic!

I did think that tbh but I also figured that the mags would of been stored upside down to stop crud and debris from falling into the exposed mag openings ?

You would want them to feed properly especially as the wagon is open topped?

Amazing work Dan. That washable dust effects is awesome. I have it as well but I couldn't work with it. "Night Shift" stated in a recent youtube tutorial that they lose their washable properties after a few years. I wonder if that ak washable agent can revive it but they only come in silly big containers. What you did with the thomson:clap2:.

Cheers,

Ernst.

Cheers Richard very much appreciated fella.

So in an attempt to get the turret closed up of which I have failed, I've added some dust or I should say started. AK Dust effects used and some

mineral spirits  used to blend out. Not the easiest of things to photograph but you'll get the idea. Less is more here for this. It still needs more refining at this stage.

Nice work on the 0.5 Dan, is that as Mr T intended or with additions?

Sure you're probably familiar with them but I've just got some of the MIG metal pigments, gun metal and polished metal, does the same as graphite powder but really handy.  Ideal for working over anything from gun barrels and handles to metal rimmed wheels and tracks.

Turret joined, I have added some dark brown streaking grime to the dust layers which is hard to see.

Attempted to hide the join with Vallejo putty at the back of the turret. So it's slowly coming together.

Turret counter weight removed to aid sanding the outside seem. more weathering yet to do to the interior

around the join to blend it all in.
