Got to like the wash, as you say really makes the details pop!

As you say, can't fault the decals, wish all could be so reliable!

Great to see this come together Dan.

the rear deck louvres have just started to pop now.

Good job this vehicle wasn't known as a weasel.

But you're right. It's standing out. Nice work with the washes.

Cheers for all the likes and great feedback, really appreciated

More weathering just building in the wash layers, this time adding a slightly darker brown

in certain areas only. all very subtle so I'm not sure the camera will pick this up? It's more like a pin wash than a general wash.

A few more details painted up like the scopes and headlights.

This is all that has been used so far for the process, some light fuel staining around the rear filler caps.

Really enjoying the treatment on this Dan, superb staining, wash, build-up technique here, it did before but really looking the biz now. I see you are a MIG fan, always been that way, ever tried Vallejo? Not a un subtle hint just a question!!!

Cheers

Cheers guys once again for the fantastic feedback.

So Vallejo, love the paints for brushing, they really nailed the whole acrylic brush painting scene but never tried the weathering products for some reason. I do have a few washes and I use the flesh wash on my all my figure heads. Really great stuff to help map out face details to go over with different tones, and well worth getting.
As for the Mig Ammo paint range, I really like it, it a bit thin for brush painting and not quite thin enough to use from the bottle for spraying, if they could cure the tip dry problem that I suffer from then I’d use it for spraying more complicated cam patterns. The weathering range is superb, no issues with any of the products. As you can also see I like to use a few bits from the AK range, similar to Mig Ammo but not as comprehensive.

Cheers guys,

So next up tonight is how to really make a mess of the model :o

MUD !!   So this is just the start of the weathering process. Mig Ammo Dry Steppe mud. Some static grass added for volume and texture.

This is just the first step chaps, load of colour changes and blending yet.   Once this little mess is dry then a quick blast with some dust coloured paint.

The mud effects are very raw at the moment chaps, the colour is too stark

but will tone down with the next few steps, this first step is just for texture really and to set the scene for the rest of the effects. I hope it’s going to work out as this is a different approach than I normally take - No pressure.. :frantic:

Crew... At some point ;)

Now that's an idea..., I assume you means the railway modellers static grass stuff?

I like where this going, such precision application too, just my forte!

Better hurry up with the crew too,  hoping for another step by step tutorial!

The very same stuff mate, it’s quite good to add texture to the running gear areas.

Crew will be soon I think fella.

Stage 2 & 3 on the weathering.

Mix up a dusty colour from Tamiya Flat Earth , Deck Tan and  German Grey, blast it over the mud effects.

Then hit it with this and blend with thinners

Its starting to gain texture and a bit of volume now. more stages left yet to finish off.

Enjoy
