Dads203
Cheers Chaps, Not much bench time tonight so only a small update, covered off the fuel filler caps on the rear deck and few more bosses to the front armour. Not much at all really Hopefully longer bench time tomorrow, Anyway found these in the stash so I know @M3talpig was looking for US Army figures, these are really nice for a cold theatre of ops. Cheers for looking in guys Dan 7

Hewy
You reckoned I'd got the sycamore together quickly, but this looks just about ready for painting, nice work👍
Dads203
Cheers chaps, Real world living getting in the way of my modelling again so not had much time at the bench. Anyway I have managed to get a few more bits together on the build, drivers and radio operators hatches get scopes. Used some old Tamiya Sherman scopes cut down. More of the armour bosses added, one side done now And the exhaust gets some texture, Mr Surfacer added and stippled, more yet to go. Enjoy Dan

Jasper dog
Progressing nicely Dan, it's the little touches that make the difference, exhaust, periscopes and handles etc. Great work Darryl
Dads203
Cheers chaps, Adding the foundry markings to the cast parts, These look about right but are not probably accurate, hard to find clear pictures of a M10 showing these clearly. These have gone onto an area which has had some Klear added, once dry they will get another coat of clear to seal them in. Enjoy Dan
Dads203
Punch and die afternoon, Adding some of the smaller missing details to the turret. The turret counter weights were bolted on so added the bolts and washers to the inside of the turret. Also added the turret ring bolts and the .50 cal locking pin to the mount. Drivers hatch is missing a few details, the handle for operating the hatch will get added later . Enjoy Dan
Jasper dog
Lovely extra detail touches! Keep saying I'm going to get a set of punches, so much more consistent than trimming pieces off a length of rod!

Dads203
Cheers folks for the feed back and the likes. Slow progress again I'm afraid, just sorted the Browning out tonight, was going to use the Tasca version but decided to use the kit body with the RBM barrel set, this comes with nice turned grips and a cocking handle along with the sights. The mount is a little wobbly at the moment and its nose heavy so it doesn't sit level, again its one of those items that will be added last. Cocking handle and the spade grips were soldered just to made them a bit more robust. Cheers for looking in Dan

M3talpig
Love the 50 ma deuce.......now i'm not certain about this but i seem to remember reading somewhere that the underbarrel handle was an addition to the 50 in the 1960's......but seriously don't take my word for that ......i could well have dreamt it. Looking great though bud
longshanks
Such a shame to have a droopy barrel on your Birthday Hope you had a good one Lovely detail on the 50 Avoid the numpties and stay safe Kev
Dads203
Cheers chaps, Barrel changing handle was on the WW2 issue kit and was phased out later, all cold war era guns didn't have them but I think the modern barrels are now being made with a variation of the handle. A couple of period photo's Cheers folks Dan

I think some of the barrels with the wire handles made it to early Vietnam though as I have a seen a few photo's showing them, but I have also seen period photo's during WW2 with no handles, especially on the quad mounts?
