AlanDT
I have been asked to build a 1/35 Mk 3 Centurion (using AFV Club Korean War model) for a 83 year old veteran of the 4th Queen's Own Hussars (7th Armoured Division?) from 1954 - 1957. He was based in Germany after initial training for the duration. Can anyone help with unit markings? He has a hazy memory of the these unfortunately. Any help much appreciated as I can find very little information on Cents from that period? Alan
Kingsman
This is said to be a QOH Cent in 1960. Colour would be satin Deep Bronze Green Centurions in BAOR at that time do not seem to have routinely carried Regiment, Brigade or Division identifiers. Some but not all carried the red/yellow RAC AOS flash on the right lower front and left upper rear hull. Exact positions varied. Yellow bridge class circle on front right fender or sometimes swapped with AOS on lower hull. Standard ERM plates front and back and black/white convoy mark at rear. Squadron markings here are unusually on the skirts, probably in white. Each tank would have been named, and the colour contrast here suggests in yellow on red: Corps colours.
