The idea behind this guy was to give him the look of a wrecked junker mech that has been repurposed and retrofitted for combat (but the budget didn't go as far as a new paint job!) He started out as a 1/144 Gundam Hi Mock but I've done him as a 1/35 scale mech with a pilot, the rocket tubes/ engine/ and armour plates are from a 1/20 Ma.k Gans kit, and his shield was left over from a 1/100 rgm ground type gundam. The goal was to go over the top with the rust, and I'm really pleased with how it came out, I used the hairspray salt technique and various rust pigments to help get a very weathered rusty finish.
