Colin W Posted September 1, 2020 Share Posted September 1, 2020 Hi Chaps This GB dates back to February 2019 when it was announced that after 40 years of active service, the RAF Tonkas would be retired in March. Many of the members on here like myself will remember them entering service. Comments about Tornados never going to be able to replace the v bombers were well founded as proven in the Falklands. Still the Tornado proved to be the aircraft for the new century and it seems to have filled it's niche well. The Tonkas served in several theatres and have been a success story to all involved. We have previously had a Tornado Group build but with the departure from service and the skies of the UK this GB is to be a celebration of the mighty Tonka. Rules are simple, Any Tornado, any scale, any scheme from any kit. Kits must be at most 25% built at the start. A documented and photographed build log should accompany the build. Final builds to be posted in the Gallery. Swaps and sales to be made in the 'Buy & sell' section. Multiple builds welcome with at least 4 expected from Enzo. We have a plethora of kits to choose from ranging from 1/32 to 1/144 all with good points and most with a few issues to be corrected by the discerning modeller.
