Nparry
I have seen a member build H.M.S. Brereton model. I was wondering where this model kit can be purchased? My father-in-law was Coxswain of this ship when it was with Merseyside R.N.R. and I would love to build this for my wife, as her Father passed away not so long ago and this ship was a massive part of her childhood and her’s and her Father’s life. Many thanks.
Cyberduck
It looks like she was a Ton-class minesweeper. Atlantic Models did a model of HMS Upton in the same class of Ton Class Minesweeper in 1:350 Price £37.95 plus postage You may have to do some conversion to make H.M.S. Brereton
Bugle07
Link to Atlantic Models site below. She's modeled as she was in 1985. https://atlanticmodels.net/kits/index.html Depending on when your Father-in-Law served on her would decide if you would need to change anything to get here accurate to the time. Paul E
It is my model of HMS Brereton that you have seen on this site. The starting point of the model is the Atlantic Models Ton Class HMS Nurton kit (it was originally marketed as HMS Upton) ATK35007 https://atlanticmodels.net/kits/index.html. There is a small amount of conversion to make HMS Brereton and I have described that on my build log. It was a nice kit to buiild. Good luck
Nparry
To Paul E, you may know my wife’s father? Chief Petty Officer Jed Stone? He was part of Merseyside RNR and Coxswain of HMS Brereton, apparently he sailed to Douglas.
