Marlin
Excellent work Rich. The cockpit looks so realistic that it should light up a the trow of a switch. And your meals looks stunning as well. Unfortunately the Shiraz's you've shown are not avaliable here in Sweden. I found one Mclaren Vale Shiraz, but that one costs almost €90.-/bottle here, and that's to steep for me. /Bosse
Jabba
Just caught up with this one, and how did I miss so much detailed work. Well done with your work in the cockpit.

If either of those wines were available overthrew they'd easily go for double that unfortunately. I got them through a specialist wine cellar, didn't pay anything like that. In general nay wine you can find from South or West Australia should be really nice.
Hockeyboy76
Sometimes your not bad at this modelling lark. I have noticed all your builds are on the larger end of the scale, some might ask “compensating for something?”

Colin W
Cracking work there TR. I think you will really miss out on the competitions at the end of the year. Even without this you've done some great work so far. Colin

Sad thing also is the end of year comps have been cancelled, had some beauties lined up for that…. ….oh and did buy some nice goodies while there! Cleaned up the joins around the rudder area. Some stretched sprue did the trick here, a quick bit of sanding and all done. I started doing some painting of the smaller bits, U/c, wheels, pylons and Harms , may do a bit more today.. Put her up on her legs for the first time, the main gear and how it fits is interesting……but she does look the part. Still slowly getting there with the cockpit, I know it’s not 100% accurate but it does look the bit and is WAY much better than the kit offering! Work will come to a halt on her for now, off away with work for 2 weeks tomorrow. Next break I have to take some time off so should have 4 weeks to play with, should be pretty close to finishing this one and the Skyraider at the end of that. …and now just for Bosse @Marlin … ..Friday night, home cooked Black Angus Beef burger wt Bacon (everything goes better with bacon!!!) and a very nice 2016 McLaren Vale Shiraz….. …..closely followed last night by a lovely bit of Porterhouse steak & potato salad with an exceptional 2015 Sth Aust Heritge Shiraz!!! 🥰 Come for the model, stay for the steak! Nice work on both fronts! 1
trickyrich
unfortunately I will not be able to finish her in time, there's still quite a bit to do and I do not at the moment have enough paint to paint her. Plus I really don't want to rush her, especially with the paint job required! But I haven't given up, I'm still planning to have her done by mid January so that I have a clean build slat for next year. So I'll still be posting updates here.
exdraken
Nice work, better not rush it! You have seen the 2 week extension though, no? Borat can still wait a little, no?
trickyrich
arrr no I didn't! But I head off to work at the end of next week for 2 weeks (I have to go into the office next week), so by the time I'm home again Xmas will be upon us.....and I'll probably be a Grandad by then as well!! So think modelling might have to take 2nd place! ....too young to be a Grandad! Plus I just don't have enough paint to do the initial colours, th 3 sets of Grey, have got 4 tins (?) of the Revel Orange I need. I'm hoping the colour I need arrive soon and I can complete her in the new year
Colin W
I was really hoping you could finish with the extra 2 weeks Rich but there is a lot to do and shame to spoil whats been done by rushing, Colin
trickyrich
I'll be finished my MiG-31 over Xmas R&R so will have plenty of time for this one before the Gulf War GB starts. Just crossing my fingers that the paint will show up in time!
trickyrich
Ok I have paint!!! Can't get my usual MRP stuff so will be trying AK Interactives Real Color paints. They're meant to be a very similar type of lacquer based paint. I have heard some people have had issues when using it, but that's probably because they don't treat it like a proper lacquer based paint which it is. Plus the nice thing here is I can get a 4 pack colour set (I got Modern Israeli, US Navy, and Luftwaffe 95 Norm sets, Tornado) for just a wee bit more than the cost of a single bottle of MRP!! I won't get a chance to paint her till I come back from work on the 22nd, so I hope to finish her the Xmas/NY break.
