Gloster Sea Gladiator of 813F NAS on HMS Eagle in 1940. An Airfix Gladiator with scratch built dinghy pack and arrestor hook bay, hook left over from another build. Painted with Xtracrylix Extra Dark Sea Grey, Dark Slate Grey, Dark Sea Grey and Light Slate  Grey. The underside was possibly Light Blue so I used Revell Helblau. The transfers came from a combination of spares in the stash and other Gladiator builds.

Hello chaps. 

 

We have Hasegawa's Hurricane MkIIB in 1/48 scale. Markings are of an aircraft from 274 squadron based in the western desert in 1942/43.

 

Pavla vac form canopy

Paints - Sovereign Hobby and Gunze

All markings sprayed using Montex Masks.

Weathered with Flory models dark dirt and sand washes and Abteilung oils.

Outer gun barrels replaced with Albion Alloys tubing.

REVELL 1:350 U-BOAT VII C U-81 

U-81 fired a single torpedo from long range at the Ark Royal aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean scoring a hit from which it succumbed the next day.

The kit is very small but superbly detailed.

This is the 1/35 scale Roden kit, built OOB and painted using colours from AK Interactive's 'Caunter Scheme' set.

British 2 Pounder QF Anti-Tank gun. A model from Ace and a nice build but many of the parts were small and fiddly. Finished with Humbrol Light Stone and a Tamiya mix for the Very Dark Brown. I built a second one which had been started alongside and it's  the one on its wheels.

 Tribute to a Departed Modeller 

 

This kit used to belong to a fellow kit Modeller called Donald John MacKay, who lived locally in Oban and was a good mate of @Scimitar Donald passed away recently leaving his family with an extensive stash of both books and models from a lifetime of collecting and @Scimitar real name Richard was a great help to the family in enabling them to get proper value for the items.

 

This kit and others Donald never finished were rescued from the rubbish bin as the family were clearing the house. I asked Patrice @TEMPESTMK5 for special permission to join this GB with this kit to finish it as a tribute to Donald. Patrice was kind enough to allow this kit to join the GB, for which I am especially grateful. I had originally popped this in the He111 STGB but never did anything to it. I knew I had too many builds on the go at the moment but this ones personal.
