Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc, Revell 1:32

Recommended Posts

Here's a build I did on a break from 1:144 airliners.

I did really enjoy this build, but it took quite a long time with all of the cockpit detail (none of which you can see with the canopy closed).

I used Humbrol spray cans for the greys, and brush-painted the green camouflage.  I thought this was a risk given the size of this kit, but I'm pleased with the even finish.

I brush-painted the Humbrol satin varnish, but I haven't applied any weathering.

He's pretty big!  Here he is next to an Airfix 1:72 Hawker Hurricane:

This looks lovely,  got a couple in the stash one to build as is and another to convert to a XIV.

Great work

It was great, the only issue I had was some poor fit on the flaps - but if you build it flaps down, it should be ok.

Personal opinion sir: As great as your build is, I'd be disappointed to see it weathered. It's wonderful just like it is.

Thanks, I think weathering can really add to a finished model, but I am not at that level yet, and I don't want to botch it right at the end!
