TALBOT LAGO T26 C 1/8

Recommended Posts

Another dull week at the shop -  the bonnet doesn't quite fit right, yes, the hand made one, that's already got a great finish....no problem, "just" cut out three segments for the carbs, nah, still not just right - ok then, "just" cut off the lower segment of the bonnet, reform a new contoured sheet, insert, attach, and refinish - piece of cake!  haha - wow - oh, and if that's not enough, making three carbs would sure take some time, so, "just" cast three matching units, that do indeed match, no problem,  all in a day's work.     Unbelievable -

Dan, thanks for sharing all of this. I keep writing this, watching the process is almost better than seeing a finished version!  OK - enough rambling - beautiful work -

Stay well and keep going!

Cheers

Nick

Had to pick my jaw from the floor.

Unbelievable amount of details you are putting into this and in getting there you touch almost every manufacturing process available.
Like Nick said, so great that you take us with you in this build.

If you were to take pictures in a certain setup, nobody would see that this is a model. It would pass as the real thing.

Kudo’s to you!

I would gladly supply my Rolls coachbuilders shop if we were neighbors Dan. Maybe I could try some graphic magic...

Of course Mr C! But ( you know I do love "but") with French advertising on the walls...

Well I tried my friend. Following the doctor's motto ' Do No Harm', your lovely model now sits outside my shop - from France to Long Island!

Forgive my crude effort with childish graphics software. I can only guess if I got the scale matched correctly - probably not. But YOU can easily make a fine backdrop of a shop scene if I could.

And apologies to you and Pascal - no French signage. All I remember from my school boy French is 'La plume de ma tante' - and BRIDGET BARDOT...

OOOPS! And you too Olivier and Thierry!

even Wingrove himself would admire your work.

I imagine, he probably would, Chas.

Dan, your work is truly inspirational. I don't think I'd be where I am now if I hadn't seen this epic build, tbh. I didn't really know much about Gerald's work until a  french fella called Propeller was directly compared with him..................
