Lovely result Chris, really impressive brush work. What type of brush do you use to ensure uniform coverage? Do you apply more than one coat?

Pete

Hi pete, always use a quite large flat brush with paint straight from the tin maybe thinned a little this time of year due to heat.Do an initial all over coat with the lightest colour.Freehand a second coat of the lightest colour where required then on this scheme freehand the green then the brown.I find the key is do it quick to advoid brush marks and sometimes 3-4 thin coats are better than 2 thick ones with brush marks in.Sometimes tempted to try an airbrush but i enjoy the brush.

Hi Chris,

Very nice model. Well done. Great paint scheme and markings choice!

I just started on my weekend edition 1/48 IIIC and I am doing the Djibouti camo scheme.

Encouraging to hear that you didn't have major problems with it. :)

Best,

Nikola

Thanks for that Chris, I always used to hand brush but then moved to airbrush. After seeing your build I hanker for another go at freehand🎨. Croatian splodgy An-2 springs to mind.

Cheers

Pete
