Ralph
Hallo all, Don't do armour very often, but do have a thing for late war German tanks. I had an Armourfast panther and Jagdpanther left over from a modelling club I run every year at school, and just fancied doing something quick and easy, with details added in with stuff at hand. Have to say its been really enjoyable modelling - having fun without getting bogged down in every tiny detail. I tried out the new Tamiya german tank paints - XF70 dark green 2, XF88 Dark Yellow 2 and XF90 red brown 2. I added tow cables from flower arrangers wire, details from plastic strip using Tamiya 1/48 kits as a reference, and sterile bandage dressing for the camo nets. I airbrushed on the colours, followed by extensive use of Tamiya weathering powders, real mud and Windsor and Galleria matt varnish. I think they have turned out OK for 'basic' wargaming kits; certainly for the price you can't go wrong - I think it must be £3.50 per kit given you get two in each box. Ideal also for trying out different techniques without fear of ruining a more expensive kit. Anyway a few pics - I've also included a few of the panther as a mini WIP so that you can see what I did. Cheers for looking. R Red oxide primer (Tamiya red and red brown mix)! Finished articles. Edited August 26, 2020 by Ralph
