Marklo
it’s been over thirty years in the making, the bridge between my first modelling era and my second. It’s almost a scratch build as I’ve only used the fuselage, spinner and wheels with a scratch interior, wings, tail plane. Pretty happy with the result, feels weird to be finished it after so long. One step closer to restoring the balance of power on the WWI shelf. From left to right, ( front row) the Albatros, scratch Pfalz DrI, Sopwith Triplane, scratch Wight quadraplane (back row) DFW Floh, scratch Sopwith Pup, Scratch Sopwith Snark. Next build to finish is my Scratch Junkers JI. Edited August 24, 2020 by Marklo Added link
pheonix
Reminds me of my experience: I was in the process of converting the Airfix DH 4 into an FB 5 Gunbus and an FB 9 Gunbus: two models at the same time. 31 years later I restarted modelling and found the unfinished parts in the roof. I have not looked back since! An excellent rendition of the type - all the better for it being largely your own work. Now of course you could get a kit of the same - but that would be much less fun! But I do have three DIIIs and a DVa in my stash to accompany the DII at a later date.
Epeeman
Really clever work converting this old kit to represent the Albatros DIII - great looking result. What will be your next project? Regards Dave

Many and multinational le, but my next few WWI projects are to finish a scratchbuilt Junkers, JI, an Albstross CIX and a Sopwith Swallow.
