YESSS!!!  I've been hankering for a modern kit of this significant aircraft for a long time!!  This makes me very happy :frantic:

Both a standard and a shark nose version (presumably with the appropriate LERX too)!  All of those wonderful colour schemes, this is most excellent news indeed!

I’ll get one them as well, but to do as an Austrian Air Force -5e.

I have the Italeri -5e already, it looks a decent kit, but it’s nice to have someone else’s kit just to compare.

Looks great. Only reservation is that it doesn’t seem to contain a canopy opening mechanism to facilitate an open canopy version ( which is my preferred way of building). Oh well, we still have the Wolfpack F-5E and F-5F to look forward to, —- or is this the Wolfpack kit?

Excellent news! I'll be needing a fair few of these to do in the various schemes used by the 527th AS at Alconbury.  Seems like a perfect time for TwoBobs to release the promised but never materialised Alconbury  Gomers sheets!

Cheers,

Mark.

Yes, that Microscale Aggressors 1/72 sheet is as rare as hens teeth!

Agreed, it is a major feature of F-5's, it is a bit of a disappointment.

Or maybe somebody will give us an aftermarket canopy hinge, and one for the ESCI/Italeri/Revell F-5A/B series whilst they're at it!

Are DreamModel and Wolfpack Designs affiliated?  And this is likely a “test shot” build... probably more detail on the production version... i.e. cannons and canopy hinge... hope so anyway!

From what I've learnt, they have no affiliation at all but please correct me if I'm wrong. Wolfpack's F-5E kit development is only in its early stages and I think this  announcement of the Tiger II is coincidental. However I do very much hope Wolfpack will continue with the project as their eye for accuracy has been proven. I agree with the above, Dreammodel's apparent lack of canopy mechanism and guns as in the pics is surprising.

Whilst I understand the disappointment about the lack of canopy hinge mechanism and cannons, what we have here is a quantum leap over what we currently have. The cannon are an easy fix, the canopy mechanism less so.

Hopefully the omissions will be sorted for the production kit.

At the very least!

I won't be buying any at that price!

You could but you'd be better off buying the older Italeri kit TBH.

So, I'm not seeing M-39 cannon barrels, canopy-raising mechanism or scope for late-style LERX on the sprue shots.

That said, shape and surface detail looks good from the photos.

I'd agree with @Wez and go for the Italeri over the Hobbyboss, even with the former's raised panel lines

I'll wait til the kit is issued with a final price, and I'll also check the various Asian shops. If the price actually is in the £35-40 range then it would be seriously disappointing... no gun barrels and decals for the instruments in the cockpit ? Not something that fits a kit of such a price.
