mark.au
Hi All; Here's the latest off the bench. I enjoyed this one very much indeed, and am quite pleased with how it turned out. As all of them are of course, this one has a couple of flaws too, but nothing I couldn't live with. Critique welcome, I tried a different approach with the paints which one of the pics amply illustrates... Craft paint and Windex, who'd have thought... Except the red underside, the model was airbrushed with these (Pine Green was a nice match for RLM82 but the RLM83 required a mix). Cheers; Mark.
SAT69
Exceptional work. And the use of craft paints is most fascinating.
Spitfire31
One of the best JV 44 Doras I've seen. Very convincing work! Kind regards, Joachim
stoohoo
Great result, I had no idea you could airbrush craft paint like that!

Neither did I, thinned down with Windex they sprayed beautifully. The mottle was trickier, there's a bit more experimentation to do before I would say the craft paint can do anything, but for solid colour work I reckon they're easily as good as the specialised paints we typically use. Below is the finish as laid down, before weathering, gloss and final coats. Cheers.

SafetyDad
Very impressive work and exceptional lateral thinking for the choice of paint! And a big +1 for using the old Trimaster kit - still makes into a great looking Dora today after all this time. SD

Wulfman Thanks mate, I didn’t use an undercoat on this one. I typically texture with post shading by varying the shade of the base colour as I go. 27 minutes ago, SafetyDad said: Very impressive work and exceptional lateral thinking for the choice of paint!
