Spitfire31
Superb Lightning, judging from the one photo. We need more! 😉 A small fly in the ointment – shouldn't the red/pink of the fin flash be facing forward? Fab modelling job… Kind regards, Joachim

DrumBum
Hey folks, thanks very much for the comments. I only took two photographs, Im a reasonable photographer but finding photography of scale models very challenging. I am finding all sorts of errors that I didnt notice until I saw it in pictures. As spitfire31 pointed out, I have placed the fin flash backwards!!! And the windscreen looks much more scratched in photographs. Also too much green in the clear missile seeker head. Its basically out of the box except for the intake cover and a canopy extension strut and decals for the LTF. Its a great kit, except the clear parts were a little scratched and its the first British subject I have built since I last built kits as a kid in the 70's/80's, Matchbox 1/72 spits and hurries by the dozen. I learnt a lot about the lightning during this build and watched many interviews on Aircrew Interviews with lightning pilots. Awesome machine. Now onto an FGR2 and Tornado F3. Binbrooksumpy
Very nicely done. I like the different greys and the light brown oil staining at the back. The air superiority grey Lightnings definitely showed plenty of streaking and staining as they were used pretty hard. You've captured it just right 👍
DrumBum
thanks again for the comments, I took another shot yesterday for practice but this side reveals a few errors...........
Paulaero
That's a very nice rendition of one of the best schemes the Lighting carried , the Binbrook Lion was all over the station. Easy fix on the minor errors
exdraken
Thanks for the additional photos! Very nice! Do not be too harsh to yourself, there is no model without errors...and good photography is difficult, yours is really fine!
kapam
Absolutely beautiful build and excellently photographed! The about-faced fin flash is nothing to worry about - I wouldn't have noticed. Well done indeed!
